Jail

*Not recommended for lady if you are alone*

This morning a man came to me saying that he was deserted from his state, and wanted a job. I told him to check out nearby hawkers stall. He then asked for $2 or $3 for food. I rejected and he walked away. I had a mixed feeling. He seemed sad, but was he waiting for prey?... Then I thought, WTH I (seriously) gonna break him if he dares. I ran after him and asked, "Mr, have you taken breakfast?"

I invited him... a bowl of noodle & tea. We had a little chat. Raman was just released from Kajang prison. Due to several charges and prior criminal records, he was serving in jail and now released but banned to step into his hometown at KL. He was sad that he couldn't find a job nor a shelter for past month. I smiled and said I have just lost my job too! We laughed. I told him it doesn't matter if he is jobless and need to sleep at bus station, important thing is to keep his faith. Keep smiling, help someone out... he will find a job. Learn along the way, and he will make a success out of his life. The journey is not easy, it will never be.

Recent years there were crimes, caused by human himself. When I approached Raman back on the street, I was hoping to prevent crime. I know giving the person money will not help. Now somehow I feel that I might have channeled a little hope as I could see a genuine smile on his face. I smiled too.

I touched a heart today... I am happy.
